I love this case for the Droid! I dropped my phone and the case snapped off, but the phone was fine and the case went right back on. The only little gripe I have is that when the case is on, the top row of the physical keyboard is a little tough to get to. But, given the many times this phone has been dropped and is still functioning great, I have no complaints! Plus with Swype, who needs the physical keyboard???

Considering the complicated case design of the Moto Droid (by comlicated casing, I mean the slide-out keyboard), a hard case is really the only way to go for true drop/scuff protection. Those body films are nice in that they don't add any bulk or weight, but they also only protect against scratches and are generally difficult to install properly. This snap-on case is sturdy, cool looking, cool feeling, doesn't attract lint at ALL, and has protected my Moto Droid from three falls already without so much as a scuff left on the case.
Unfortunately, all this protection does come with a price of increased bulk. Even as thin as this case is, it still makes the Droid noticably thicker and bulkier, which for my large man-hands isn't an issue, but when showing off my Droid to iPhone owners usually the first thing out of their mouth is "it's so big!"
Even with the slight increase in bulk, I've had no problem hearing people through the normal speaker as well as the speakerphone (the case does not block the speakerphone speaker) and people have told me that they can still hear me loud and clear (doesn't block the mic).
If you don't care too much about size or if you want to seriously protect your Droid so it doesn't become a $250 paperweight, buy this snap-on set. You won't regret it.

I'm not sure how this will protect my phone if I'm unfortunate enough to drop it. I have a leather pouch type case that I think I might still use. This is a good looking case though and easy enough to take off when I want to dock my phone. Like another reviewer said, I'd call it maroon or wine colored, not red, so if you want a true red cover, don't get this one. It fits the phone really well and all the appropriate things are left uncovered.

The 5 star reviews on fit are absolutely correct. This thing protects and fits my phone very well.
My one complaint is a minor one, but for some of you it may help. The product is labeled as "red" and it is maroon. Again, it's not like that is a huge issue. It is just something to consider.

I bought my Moto Droid in December at BB and got a Zapp, Inc. screen protector day of purchase. I thought that'd be enough protection, but I had issues with the battery cover sliding off, so I went to a Verizon store and bought the plastic/leather cover. It was ok, but made the phone feel really bulky. It was so thick in fact that it made using the top row of keys on the physcial keyboard difficult. Well, about a month ago the phone fell a couple of feet onto carpet, and a tab on the screen part of the case broke and rendered the whole top part of the case useless (what a load of crap, but that's another story). I found this cover on Amazon, and based on the glowing reviews I ordered it. What a difference! This case is so thin, yet solid and high quality, it makes the phone feel almost new again. The texture is similar to the back of phone, but not as sticky feeling. I really like the burgandy color - like other reviews point out, it's a really deep red, not a bright red, which I knew about ahead of time and bought it for purposefully. If you were to get the black case, you'd honestly wonder if there were a case on the phone at all. I highly recommend this case!
