Best case for iphone protection,
by Donni Subagia, 2010-07-31
Before I always thought why people use phone case to cover the beautiful iphone. I didn't use a case for my new iphone for six months. Then one day, I dropped the phone from the table, it felt like my heart fall to the floor. Luckily, my iphone's still fine, no scratch. After that experience, I tried to find the best case which can protect the phone and I found this otterbox defender. This is the best case for iphone protection. Except, there's one problem with this case, the watermark problem. First, I used baby powder, it worked for 3 hours and then, the watermark started to appear again. It also made the screen looks dusty. So, I bought AmazonBasics Anti-Glare Screen Protector Film for iPhone 3G; 3GS; 3 pack. It solved the watermark problem permanently. You can't use any clear screen protector to solve the watermark problem. It has to be antiglare as this is the only kind with a matte-like texture to it. I tried with a regular clear one before and you still get the watermark problem.
GREAT deal and GREAT protection!,

My iPhone 3Gs is brand new, and it cost me a pretty penny. As such, I didn't want it to get scratched, cracked, or broken at all. I bought the white Otterbox, and I LOVE it. First of all, I have a BLACK iPhone, but I still wanted the white Otterbox because I think it looks classy and sophisticated. The black of the iPhone doesn't "shine" through at all - it looks like I have a white iPhone, which was what I wanted anyway! This Otterbox provides great protection for my phone, and I truly recommend it. There is a reason that Otterbox is known for its industructibility!
Protecion vs Freedom,
by September, 2010-07-31
This case is big and bulky and does exactly what it sets out to do; protect your iPhone. It does a great job protecting your phone, too well actually as it also protects it from the user, limiting your interaction. I ended up choosing the freedom of use instead of the protection offered by this muscle-head.
Built like a TANK,
by ditchdoc, 2010-07-30
This protective case is built like a tank! If you are looking for a cute or delicate skin or cover for your iPhone, then move on to something less. This case provides incredible bump and drop protection. Excellent "splash and drizzle" protection. Installation is super simple. All ports and functions are usable. The only difficulty I've had is accessing the silent switch but the benefit there is that I no longer accidentally hit it like I used to when it wasn't in the case. Many reviewers have reported issues with an oil-slicking effect on the screen. I did have this, but it is easily solved by placing a cheap screen protector on the phone before putting on the Otter Box. Other reviews have also made comments about the phone being difficult to holster/un-holster from the belt clip. I disagree and attribute that to user errors. The belt clip has easy to use thumb tabs to facilitate removal from the holster and if you place the phone into the holster properly - first the bottom then clip in the sides - it works like a charm. The solid black is still classy and stylish enough to not be the focus of attention when I am dressed professionally but it's ruggedness is enough to draw people's attention when I have it in hand. I highly recommend this for anyone who has a high activity lifestyle, works outdoors, or is in a high contaminant environment.
It defends well!,

I dropped my first iPhone and shattered the screen. I'm quite clumsy so when I replaced the phone I asked the guy at the Apple store what he recommended for me and this was it. Not a pretty case and it's quite bulky but I have dropped it multiple times, even down cement stairs and not a problem has come from the phone.
