Perfect for Summer :),
by A. Tweedle, 2010-06-25
Motorola phones are the BEST. High quality and perfectly priced. It doesn't get any better. This phone really works out nicely for keeping in contact with my kids this summer and for a low price. Tracfone is a wonderful service and has great coverage as well. I definitely reccommend this phone & service to everyone :)
RUN, Don't Walk Away!!!,
by -alana, 2009-11-03
What a nightmare! I was attempting to update my old Nokia cell phone, which has been a wonderful, reliable phone -but after six years the battery wasn't holding its charge as long, and the back cover occasionally came off, so I decided to replace it. I liked it so much I tried to get another Nokia, but Tracfone no longer supports that manufacturer. So I ordered the Motorola W260g. It was defective; after a 5+ hour charging, absolutely nothing. No logo. No sign of life at all. I called Tracfone customer support (an oxymoron if ever there were one). After an hour and six minutes on the phone with a robo-customer "service" person who could not stop reading from her script, we BOTH finally realized we could not proceed with activation. They sent a return label and a replacement phone --WHICH DIDN"T WORK EITHER! After 20 minutes on hold with, apparently, the wrong Tracfone division/department, I was transfered to another robo-person. Same endless list of questions as the first round; but this agent had enourmous difficulty understanding English, and NEVER understood that her carefully crafted script would not work if the phone in my hot, little hand was not working!! She diligently kept persevering and trying to talk me into de-activating my working Nokia, and transfering minutes to the dead-as-a-doornail Motorola!!! Infuriating!!!
The Silver Lining: I just called Amazon and spoke to THE NICEST customer service person ever. They'll email me a return shipping label and refund the price of the phone as soon as they get it back. I cannot be fast enough! Then I'm shopping Amazon for pre-paid options other than Tracfone! -alana
TracFone service spotty.,
by Jim, 2009-09-03
I saw a TracFone claim that they cover over 95% of the US. If you go to the tracFore web site, you can see that there alot of areas where there is no service.
I spend alot of time in central Wisconsin and am unable to use my TracFone unless I am close to an interstate highway.
Unable to charge from computer USB,
by iSAWaUFO, 2009-08-29
The phone charges from the standard mini USB connector. "Great!" I thought. I have all sorts of USB cables at home and work. I can just charge it at my computer and not have to lug around another transformer. Not! I plugged it into my computer and "Unable to Charge" displayed on the screen. I checked the users manual ... "Note: Charging the phone from a computer's USB port is not supported."
Drat!
Great little phone,

I love this little phone. It works great, was priced right, and was delivered on time. Amazon.com came through for me again.
