Nice if your Borrowing it - Not worth the price though,
by G. Eguia, 2010-06-30

My friend was kind enough to lend me his mophie for my travels. it's low profile but strangely adds enough bulk to be uncomfortable. It weighed down my jeans - not to mention it got hot when it was using the pack. During my European travels i ended up throwing it in my bag and use it when needed. Still a lifesaver at times when you don't speak french (french/english translator app) or using the iphone to navigate in a country without a physical map (gps=total battery killer).

also no way to charge the pack using an iphone connector - uses a micro usb - so make that another cable to lose.

My suggestion? Get the iphone 4 - better battery life. or just keep the iphone 3G/3GS charged at all times.

Good Product, But Far From Perfect...,
by R. J. Taylor, 2010-06-28

Charges fine and it's nice to have more battery life, but there are a few complaints. The biggest is the cap. I have broken 2 now. I don't consider myself especially hard on the phone and charger, but this piece is very fragile. They are $5 to replace, but $7 to ship. That is not good product support in my opinion. It also gets pretty hot when charging the iPhone. A couple of times my iPhone has shut down because of the heat generated when I am outside by the pool or in the garage. It's not a big problem when its cool or I'm indoors. The micro USB is also a pain. I'm not sure why they chose to use this over just a regualr USB as there is nothing universal about it. I have drawer full of regualr USB cables, but had to buy 2 new micro USBs for the car and the office. All in all its a good product, but not everything it could be. Hopefully they will read all the reviews before designing the next one. It seems we all ahve had similar complaints.

Save your money,
by dissatisfied, 2010-06-25

I use my iphone constantly and am always running it down. I did not spend time investigating but I should have. What member of the society of sadistic engineers thought they could make a case with a different charging connection requiring still another cable? Maybe the connector is proprietary to Apple? I hope so-at least that provides some logic to this otherwise totally illogical decision. I have an Apple charger in the car, one in my briefcase-and one in my office just to make sure I am never far away. None of them work now-unless I take off the case-or buy a whole new set of cables.

Beyond that-I see no discernible difference in charging time. I still run down by mid afternoon. Not worth it. Going back.

Exactly what I was looking for,
by Vin Scimeca, 2010-06-24

Anyone that has an iPhone knows that the battery is not that great, especially if you use it to make calls, run applications etc. I didn't want to purchase a bulky battery pack that would be cumbersome when I carried around my phone. This product was exactly what I was looking for. I can use my phone and when I notice the battery starting to drain I simply flick the switch on the juice pack to start charging the phone back up and then I can switch it off. You do not just want to leave the juice pack on to always charge the phone when it has a full charge as this will drain the juice pack more quickly then if you just use it when you notice that you need it.

mine died,
by Michael Guerra, 2010-06-22

Mine died at 18 months, used properly according to directions. No damage, no abuse. It was out of warranty, they would not replace. I understand the warranty was one year, but many companies will repair or replace a product well after the warranty period. Not Mophie. My Valentine One radar detector is 10 or 12 years old and works flawlessly, this $100.00 battery crapped out at 18 months. I liked it when it worked, I am totally unimpressed with Mophie customer service. Bose has given me free repairs and free parts replacements on my aviation headset LONG after the warranty expired. So Bose has me as a customer for life, and Mophie will never see another nickel from me. That's what you call penny wise and pound foolish. To be fair, they did offer to sell me a new one for an unspecified discount, which I have thus far declined.
