It's okay, but not great...,

Well, sometimes you get it right and sometimes you get it wrong. I got this one wrong. First of all, if you are buying into the passive amplification, you should stop right now, it's not going to make your phone measurable louder. As a mount, I suppose if you're one of those people that doesn't protect their phone with a case, it's okay. It doesn't have contact on all four sides so I don't know how much I would trust it horizontally on a bumpy road. The grip also rocks allowing the phone to move some with the car which is good, but I think it could feel more secure. With a case on it's not going to stay in when jostled and I'm not taking my case off everytime I get in the car. The other deal breaker was the neck. It's not bendable, it's plastic and that angle is the one you get and it didn't work for me in my car. This might be a good option for some people, especially if you don't use a case, but for me it's back to the search.
I did not try the vent mount attachement that comes with it, I don't like vent mounts, but it does come with both the suction and vent mounts.

Very happy with my decision to purchase this product. The windshield mount works wonderfully and is very sturdy. I had a bit of trouble with the air-vent mount because my Civic's center vent's were a tad too small, but the mount fit well in my driver's side vent.
Not a life-changing product, but it keeps my iPhone secure and in-reach when I'm driving which is what I wanted it for.

I purchased this auto holder for my iPhone 3GS as my new job has me on the road. This is an excellent holder and definitely worth the money. A second holder will be purchased for our other vehicle to hold my wife's iPhone 3GS.
The only issue is there is a slight "bounce" on rougher roads, however the iPhone stays secure! I still strongly recommend.

Does this work for the iphone 4g? I will be getting the 4g very soon and wanted to get this if it holds the 4g properly. Thanks in advance!

I am not sure if I had a defective unit or this is just a bad product, but it did not work for me at all. I used the correct pads for an iphone in a case and even tried removing the case and using the pads for that, but it did not amplify the sound for me all. Even if it would have worked the pads fall off quite easily and another reviewer posted you cannot even buy replacement pads if you lose one of yours.
