When I initially ordered this, I didn't realize it was for the 3G/3GS...I have the 4. But if I take the case off the phone, it works fine...I love it!!! It makes it sooo nice not to have to hold the phone while you are watching a movie. Thanks!!!
Perfect for 3G/3GS without a case. Don't even bother if you plan to use it for iPhone 4 or 1G,

I have iPhones from each generation (1G, 3G, 4) so I had a chance to try each one of them in the Elago S2 stand.
Since it's made for the 3G I expected it to fit - and it does - perfectly! The shape of the stand is contoured to fit the form of the 3G/3GS perfectly. It's fine in both Portrait and Landscape modes. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to fit with any of the cases that I have. I was also a little concerned with the risk of scratches since the front of the stand hugs the screen. It would also have been nice if there were some rubber or other non-slip feet on the stand.
This stand does not fit the original iPhone or the iPhone 4 so don't even bother.

I don't think they mfg claimed it was meant for the 4g but I suppose I thought it
work work just the same.
In fact, it holds my wife's 3gs sturdily in either axis, but it will only hold a
4g in its horizontal position. Stand the iPhone 4g up and the stand topples over.

I bought this to hold my phone upright on my desk while I am at work. It does fit the iphone 4, I have a small thin case on mine and it fit with no problem. I suspect if you have a bulkier case it's not going to fit though. It does what I wanted so I'm happy with this purchase.

This is an excellent stand for the iPhone. Bought it as gift for my wife and she loves it. Can hold iPhone at angle at desk to rest or for charging.
